Celebrations this weekend take place in remembrance of a man who led millions on a march toward the perfect goals of freedom and equality, irreversibly changing the course of history. Guided by faith and the strength of brotherhood, he stood unwaveringly in the face of forceful antagonism and overwhelming indifference.
Dr. Martin Luther King inspired a movement which set us on a path toward equality for every man, woman and child in every home, on every street, in every neighborhood in America. We owe our deepest gratitudes to him, and all of those who have taken up the cause of a fairer, more integrated society – a cause that continues to this day. The lessons of Dr. King remind me and my family to value the unlimited potential in the people around us, regardless of background or personal differences. And those lessons continue to enrich my own life. Take a moment today to appreciate how far we have come, and how far we have yet to go. The march continues.
